Description
Essential for every parent, this friendly, relaxed class will teach you how to deal with accidents and emergencies involving babies and children. We aim to give you real practical skills so that you have the knowledge and confidence to keep your little ones safe.
The course is run by Flora, a mum of two gorgeous boys. With 20 years of experience dealing with accidents and emergencies in the Ambulance Service, she is passionate about teaching parents how to help their little ones in an emergency.
As well as some amazing lifesaving skills, you will also receive an Elements First Aid attendance certificate valid for 1 year and course handouts to read in your own time.
Babies under 12 months are welcome. Please note: classes at WRAP are held in the training room upstairs above the WRAP cafe.
Suitable for
Parents, grandparents, babysitters, baby & toddler group volunteers & NCT groups.
Core Content
We cover all the essential lifesaving skills including how to manage an unconscious casualty, recovery position, CPR and choking. We then go on to learn about bleeding, head injuries, fractures, fever, seizures, burns, meningitis and other childhood conditions.
Assessment
This is a relaxed awareness course – there is no formal assessment.
Nature of Training
These are small group classes. We will show you lots of practical skills and will give you the chance to participate in plenty of hands-on practice. Participation is not essential but helps you to remember what to do! Babies under 12 months are welcome. Bring plenty of snacks and entertainment!
Certificates
You’ll receive an Elements First Aid certificate of attendance. Electronic certificates are emailed out to learners after the training.
